#13 Visit 7 places in 7 countries that start with the letters of my name

I 'borrowed' this wish from my friend Brenda's list. Given my itchy travelling feet, it made sense to try to find seven different countries. And the best part of all was that finding a place with an A in Canada took the longest. I wanted to find the perfect place. In the end I settled for Anmore, a place I had been to multiple times. But I remembered that beauty hides in the most common places. Writing the quick summaries of all these trips reminded me of the people and experiences that made it unique.

M Manderscheid, Germany

* while: roadtripping through Germany on his Africa twin bike
* stayed: in a tent at a campsite
* drank: Bitte ein Bit of course
* ate: savoury & sweet pizza (delicious!)
* memorable: got a flat tire when leaving the campsite, got towed to a nearby industrial city in the middle of nowhere

A Anmore, Canada

* with: my girl Soutomi
* while: hanging out on a lazy Sunday
* stayed: in my own bed, because it's so close
* drank: latte at Gallagher's Coffee
* ate: tuna melt at Gallagher's Coffee
* memorable: walk along Buntzen Lake on a sunny winter day while wearing the best winter hat ever

R Recht, Belgium

* with: my entire family
* while: on a relaxing weekend to surprise my mom for her 60th birthday
* stayed: in a cozy cabin in the middle of a forest
* drank: Jupiler, my favourite Belgian beer
* ate: raclette, a Swiss cheesy delight
* memorable: went on a sunny hike while carrying my nephew as he fell asleep on my shoulders







I Inverness, United States 

* with: my three beautiful friends Shireen, Susan and Maggie (and gorgeous Tully of course)
* while: on our annual 'let's get together, drink, eat, and talk grief'' retreat
* stayed: at Maggie's place in my own little mansion (her trailer)
* drank: lost of Californian wine
* ate: Screaming Mimi's ice cream... best in the world without question
* memorable: the beach, the ocean, so much love and warmth

E Edinburgh, Scotland

* with: Olivia, mon coup de foudre amical
* while: on a random citytrip in Europe
* stayed: at a lovely flat that was totally us (cozy and full of warmth)
* drank: Innis & Gunn beer
* ate: a tiny bit of haggis but mostly Ben's Cookies
* memorable: walking up to Arthur's Seat & seeing the entire city from above/daydrinking with my buddy Neil







K Kessel, The Netherlands

* with: my little big brother Aaron
* while: driving home from our roadtrip through Germany
* stayed: in a tent in a nearby town (Meijel)
* drank: De Lindeboom, local beer
* ate: way too creamy portobello pasta
* memorable: put the motorbike on a ferry that took a total of three minutes to cross a river

E Eischoll, Switzerland

* with: still my little big bro Aaron
* while: visiting his new home in Gampel, Switzerland
* stayed: on my brother's couch
* drank: Walliser beer, local yumminess
* ate: rosti with cheese at a mountaintop patio that opened up just for us (Jeizinen)
* memorable: took the gondola up, lots of buttons, no operator, not allowed to touch any buttons, sad face
